Virtual Marketing Intern Needed
Posted on August 19th, 2009 No commentsVirtual Internet Marketing Internship
We’re seeking a virtual intern for our marketing team. What’s nice about a virtual internship is that it reminds me of the song Virtual Insanity. And also you can do the internship from your couch. Or laundry room. But definitely not from underneath your roommate’s bed. You can do the internship in your skivvies and we don’t even care. We would totally care about the skivvies thing if you were working from our HQ.
This is an unpaid internship requiring a 16 -24 hour/week commitment. The schedule and length of internship is flexible. Students must be able to receive college credit for their experience.
Responsibilities Include:
• Assisting with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), including developing keyword lists, as well as creating content on the websites and affiliated networks
• Designing affiliate banners
• Researching social networking sites
• Writing ad copy, gathering new key words and assisting with key word discovery
• Analyzing the competitive marketplace, including monitoring competitor websites and promotionsInternship Requirements:
The virtual intern must be highly organized and detail oriented. Must also have highly developed communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and be able to strike the appropriate balance between working independently and keeping supervisor informed. If you can juggle, while riding a unicycle, while dressed like a clown, you should be in a circus. But this might also be a good experience for you.The virtual intern must be proficient in MS Excel. Experience with Google Adwords, web analytics terminology, capabilities and reporting is preferred, but not required.
How to Apply:
Email your resume to jobs@moosejaw.com. Please use job code VI so we know what you’re applying for. VI totally stands for virtual intern.Love the Madness,

Moosejaw Softball Ends Season

The Moosejaw softball team finished their season last Thursday with a 23-7 win over Great Balls of Fire. MVP and pitcher, Matt E, likes to say he “extinguished their flame”. Manager of the Year, Kelly E, had three doubles in the game and Most Likely to Be on Her Arse, Katie P, was robbed when the legally blind umpire called her out on one of her trademark slides.Team Awards:Most Improved Players Tom L and Megan KRookie of the Year Julie KBest Outfielder Nick “Rifle Arm” WBest Base Runner Mike “The Flash” AMost Exciting Base Runner Katie PBest Call Up from the Minors Claudia RScorekeeper Extraordinaire Mel LManager of the Year Kelly EMost Valuable Player MattBig thanks to Super Fans Cindy and Pat E and Shelby M.Pat M -

The Offical Moosejaw Badminton Tournament
Posted on August 10th, 2009 1 commentGreetings Mildly Attractive Moosejaw Staff,
On the History Channel last night, I learned a very interesting and important fact about our nation’s history that I feel everyone should know. It has been revealed that the Civil War was actually settled over an intense game of Badminton between the leaders of the Northern and Southern armies.
Robert E. Lee had a killer serve that almost crippled the Union army, but Ulysses S. Grant made an amazing dive save on the Appomattox Court House lawn that eventually ended slavery, restored the Union and overall strengthened the federal government. Grant and Lincoln celebrated with a wicked cool chest bump, and then some kind of early form of the Cabbage Patch dance.
So in tradition of the Fathers of our great nation, Moosejaw will be holding our very own Badminton Tournament and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Here’s all the info you’ll need to know:
- The sign-up deadline will be August 18th, 2009.
- We’ll have sign-up sheets posted around the office/warehouse.
- You can either sign up with a team (2 players only) OR sign up individually and you will be paired randomly with another employee.
- If you sign up as a team, you must choose an employee from OUTSIDE your department.
- Two games a day will be played starting at 3:00 PM (stay tuned for more details on when the games will commence and the full schedule.)
Please let me know if you have any questions about this, and I will do everything I can to solve them right away.
Love the Madness,
Scott

Shark Week 2009 Review
Posted on August 7th, 2009 No comments
So far, the big winner for Shark Week 2009 has been Jaws of the Pacific. Finally, a documentary that I haven’t seen. Air Jaws rules, but it’s so been-there-done-that. I’m also very tired of the proprietary programming being the crutch for Shark Week. Mythbusters is good sh-t, but I don’t want to see a 12 foot mechanical shark biting an oxygen canister in a pool. Nor do I care what Les Stroud has to say about anything NOT related to building a hammock out of a crashed hot air balloon.
Last, but certainly not least, if I have to watch one more poorly done dramatic reenactment of some a–hole getting attacked by a bull, I might do something drastic. Like change the channel. And those are words that should NEVER be said about Shark Week.
